September 1, 2012 Former store mascot, Freya, passed away yesterday at the age of 14. Freya was a German breed called a Hovawart and had done more to advance the notoriety of Hovawarts than any other dog in history. She was famous around Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island during her time there. Freya was a calm, confident intelligent dog and will be sorely missed.
