Clarity is a 6 mos. old longhair tortie, found abandoned in an area know to be frequented by coyotes.  Clarity was adopted May 16th, 2010 with a double happy ending.  No sooner had Clarity been adopted when someone came in who also wanted to adopt her.  We called Forever Friends, Clarity's Rescue Group, and lo and behold, they had Calamity, a littermate of Clarity's.  Calamity was adopted on the same day.

Foster Cat Clarity

Bracken is an affectionate, inquisitive Siamese mix estimated to be about 1 yr. old.  She and her littermate were doused with dog flea powder as kittens; her paperwork from Forever Friends Rescue says she was like a "powder puff of flea powder."  This caused both kittens to become seriously ill.  Her littermate didn't make it but Bracken is a fighter and is fine now.  Adopted for Mother's Day on May 9th, 2010.

Foster Cat Bracken

Beautiful long haired Fluffy was found as a stray and is estimated to be approximately 1 yr. old.  The good people at Cass River Pet Friendz made sure that she had a complete health check up along with all her vaccinations and spaying.  Fluffy is quiet but sweet and seems to be very fond of little girls.  Adopted April 30th, 2010.

2yr. old Marlow was adopted April 25, 2010.   His family had a baby who was allergic to Marlow and he was given up to Cass River Pet Friendz.  His new adoptive family was nice enough to send us the following letter:

Hello Michelle, Kim, and the rest of your staff,

I just wanted to give you an update on Marlowe, whom we adopted from your shop yesterday.

He had no problem on the way home to Ann Arbor. He hung out in his cardboard box on my lap - very friendly and interested the whole way. When we got home, we set up his litterbox and food/water. He used his box, and started munching away on his food. He went from family member to family member, looking for rubs and comfortable laps to sleep in. He seems absolutely fine with anyone - not too picky!

Clearly, this guy feels quite at home.Thank you for allowing us to adopt him, he's fitting right in to the family!

 We'll keep you posted,

 Anne

FROM SUGAR TO THE STAFF AT RAINING CATS AND DOGS

September 24, 2009
Hello Everyone,

I've been in my new home 3 weeks now.  The trip home from Frankenmuth was very good.  I slept a lot and meowed a little.  I am getting lots and lots and lots of love.  I have a warm bed, plenty of food and always fresh water everyday.  I have met my new vet and she is a nice lady who will take good care of me.  I have many toys to play with.  My favorite is the little laser light in the shape of a mouse that I chase around but never seem to catch!!!  I like the little wand with the feathers my new family bought me.  I also like the ball with the rattles in it and chase it around the house all the time.  I play at night with my toys a lot since I am a night cat.  During the day, I play with my family.  I am learning to explore the house.  I have many favorite sleeping spots.  I am good at hiding, and sometimes my family cannot find me!!!!  Some noises still scare me however I am getting use to them.  The dishwasher, telephone, and doorbell were really new to me.  I am still afraid of being picked up, but will sit by my mommy and let her pet me.  I follow my mommy around the house and am very inquisitive.  I actually jumped up on the bed this week for the first time!!!!  I started sleeping at the foot of the bed.  It is very obvious I am getting braver and getting used to my new life.  You'd be surprised at the positive change that I've done in only 3 weeks!!!  I am very happy here.  Thank you for showing me and letting me stay in your store hoping that I would be adopted.  It's working out great!!!!  Did you put my picture up on the wall with the other pets you've been able to place??  Here I am basking in the sun.

Love always and always,
Sugar
